Effective date and last update: October 3, 2026. Document version: 2.2.
By downloading, installing or using Quadra, you accept the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with it, you must not use the application. Nothing in this document limits inalienable rights recognized by applicable law.
1. Data controller
Quadra is operated under the trade name Aparicio Technologies, domiciled in Panama. You can contact us for any privacy matter at joelaparicio.work@gmail.com.
Quadra's Android package name is com.joelaparicio.quadra.
2. General principles
Data processing in Quadra changes depending on the plan you use. As a general rule:
- Quadra does not sell your personal data.
- Quadra does not process payments or money transfers, act as a financial intermediary, hold funds, or provide professional financial, tax or investment advice. It is a personal organization and information tool.
- Categorizations, estimates, OCR results and Quadra AI answers may contain errors and should be verified before making decisions.
- We do not promise absolute security or error-free operation; we do apply the reasonable measures described in this policy.
3. Data on the free plan
On the free plan, your financial information (accounts, balances, transactions, budgets, goals, debts, loans, categories and notes) is stored and accessed on your device. Quadra does not sync that information with our servers: cross-device sync is a feature exclusive to Quadra Pro (see section 4). Quadra AI is also unavailable on the free plan, so no financial context is sent to an artificial intelligence provider for that feature.
There are, however, three processing activities that do leave your device on the free plan. We describe them in detail because we want this policy to reflect exactly what the app does:
- Receipt scanning (OCR): when you choose to scan a document, the image is sent to our servers and from there to a third-party optical recognition provider to extract the data. This happens only when you expressly request it, never automatically or continuously, and is subject to a monthly scan limit that you can extend by watching rewarded ads. The image is processed to return the result to you and is not kept permanently for purposes other than providing that feature.
- DGI fiscal QR lookup: the code is decoded on your device and the DGI's public service is queried. If the invoice is not yet available on that service, we log a pending lookup on our servers to retry it, which includes the document's fiscal identifier, its link and, when available, the merchant name, amount and date. See section 5.
- Advertising: a third-party digital advertising provider may process technical and advertising data such as your device's advertising identifier, IP address, ad interaction, diagnostics, measurement and fraud prevention. That provider does not receive your balances, transactions, budgets, debts, invoices, categories or any other financial data recorded in Quadra.
Outside of those cases, your free-plan financial information stays on your device. Basic technical data about the app's operation may also be generated locally (see section 13, Security).
Identity: if you sign in through an external authentication provider or with your email and password, we process your email address, name, public profile photo and a unique account identifier.
4. Data on Quadra Pro
Quadra Pro extends the processing described in section 3. The main change is sync: when you turn it on, your financial information may be stored and processed on the cloud infrastructure we operate to provide the contracted service, including remote databases, so you can access it from more than one device.
- Sync: accounts, transactions, categories, budgets, goals, debts, recurring rules and associated documents are replicated on our servers while the subscription is active. This feature does not exist on the free plan.
- OCR: the flow is the same as the free plan (sent to our servers and to a third-party optical recognition provider, only when you expressly request it), but without the monthly limit on scans. A daily technical cap is kept in place to prevent abuse.
- Quadra AI: available only with Pro. The financial context needed (for example, summaries of accounts or transactions relevant to your query) is sent to a third-party artificial intelligence provider when you actively use that feature. Your entire financial history is not automatically sent if it is not necessary to answer your query.
- Subscription: we process the status of your subscription and an associated user identifier, managed through a specialized subscription-management provider and Google Play's billing platform. Quadra does not receive or store card data.
Each provider receives only the data reasonably necessary to provide the requested feature, in accordance with category 6 (Third parties) of this policy.
5. DGI fiscal QR scanning
Scanning the fiscal QR is not OCR. The actual flow is: Quadra decodes the content of the QR code, which points to the public electronic-invoice lookup service of the Dirección General de Ingresos (DGI), Panama's tax authority. Quadra queries that public page and structures the available data (merchant, date, amount, currency, payment method or fiscal identifier, when available).
When the lookup succeeds, the data is saved on your device and, if you use Quadra Pro, synced like any other transaction. When the invoice is not yet published on the DGI service, Quadra logs a pending lookup on its servers to retry later; that record includes the document's fiscal identifier, its link and, when available, the merchant name, the amount and the authorization date. This logging happens on both plans and is closed once the invoice is incorporated or once you no longer need the lookup.
This information is never shared with the advertising provider. Although the looked-up data comes from a public service, once associated with your account inside Quadra it becomes part of your personal financial information and is treated with the same protections as the rest of your data.
DGI is an entity independent of Quadra. Quadra is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by DGI, and the availability and accuracy of its lookup service depend exclusively on that entity.
6. How and why we use data
- Provide the core personal-finance organization features.
- Sync data to the cloud for Pro users.
- Process receipts, invoices and DGI fiscal QR to facilitate transaction logging.
- Operate Quadra AI and generate informative answers within the app.
- Send notifications related to budgets, due dates, reminders or account activity.
- Measure usage, detect failures, improve performance and prevent abuse or undue costs.
- Show rewarded ads and manage subscriptions.
- Respond to support, privacy or data-deletion requests.
7. Legal bases
We process data on the bases applicable to each specific processing activity: performance of a contract or provision of a service you requested, consent where applicable law requires it for a given processing activity, legitimate interest in security, abuse prevention, analytics and service improvement, and compliance with legal obligations.
The applicable basis depends on the feature. For example, when you expressly ask to scan a document, the processing relies on the provision of the service you requested; on the other hand, notifications or personalized advertising may require your consent depending on your jurisdiction. Not every optional processing legally depends on consent.
8. Third parties and providers
We share data with external providers only when necessary to operate Quadra. We distinguish two types of providers:
Providers acting on Quadra's behalf (processors): they receive only the data necessary to perform a specific function, are subject to reasonable contractual and technical conditions, and Quadra retains the responsibilities that correspond to it for their actions toward you. When you exercise a right of correction, restriction or deletion, we pass that instruction on to these providers to the extent technically possible. Depending on the function, they include:
- Cloud infrastructure, databases and hosting for our systems and this website.
- Authentication and account management.
- Document processing and OCR.
- Artificial intelligence for Quadra AI.
- Analytics, failure detection and technical support.
- Technical management of subscription status and permissions associated with Quadra Pro, on behalf of and under Quadra's instructions. Billing itself is carried out by the app billing platform, which acts as an independent controller.
Independent controllers: operate under their own policies and decisions, autonomously from Quadra. They include the app distribution and billing platform, digital advertising networks and DGI's public lookup service. Quadra does not control their infrastructure or internal practices; any claim about their handling of data should be directed to them, through their own channels.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Quadra does not guarantee the uninterrupted operation of these providers and assumes no liability for failures or interruptions attributable solely to an independent controller. This does not exclude the responsibilities the law imposes on us as a data controller toward you.
9. Artificial intelligence
Your identifiable financial data is not used to train general artificial intelligence models. We do not authorize our AI providers to use that information to train their own models or to create commercial datasets from your documents, transactions or financial history. Any future use for training purposes would require your prior, specific, informed and revocable consent. Aggregated or anonymized information that does not reasonably allow you to be identified may be used to improve the service.
Quadra AI and OCR may generate incomplete, imprecise, incorrect or outdated results. You must review the information before saving it or making decisions. Quadra AI does not replace a financial, accounting, tax or legal advisor, nor a banking institution.
10. Advertising
The free version may show rewarded ads through a third-party digital advertising provider, which may process your device's advertising identifier, IP address, ad interaction, and diagnostics, measurement, security and fraud-prevention data. That provider does not receive transactions, balances, budgets, debts, invoices, categories or any other financial data recorded in Quadra, and that data is not used to build your advertising profile.
You can access ad-personalization controls from your Android device's settings or from the corresponding platform's configuration. If Quadra is offered to users in regions that require additional consent mechanisms, the corresponding mechanisms will be integrated before serving personalized ads in those regions.
11. International transfers
Some of our providers may process data in countries other than Panama. We apply reasonable contractual, organizational and technical measures, transfer only the information necessary for the relevant function, and maintain access and security controls over those transfers. You may request additional information about the categories of transfers applicable to your case.
12. Retention
We retain different types of information according to these criteria:
- Local data: stays on your device until you erase it, uninstall the app or clear its data.
- Account data and synced data (Pro): while your account is active, or until you request its deletion.
- Documents sent to OCR and Quadra AI queries: for the time necessary to process the request and return the result to you; they are not kept permanently for purposes other than providing that feature.
- Technical, security and support records: for the time reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, auditing, support or defense against claims.
- Backups: may persist temporarily after a deletion request, until the next backup-purge cycle.
- Subscription history and purchase records: for the periods required by the distribution platform or the corresponding subscription provider, and by applicable law.
13. Security
We apply measures such as encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), secure authentication, access controls, per-user data separation, the principle of least privilege, and provider review. No system is completely infallible; that is why you must also protect your device, credentials and account access.
If a security incident affecting your data occurs, we will investigate it, adopt reasonable corrective measures and, when applicable law requires it, notify affected users and the competent authorities.
14. This website
The site https://quadrafinanzas.app does not use non-essential cookies or web analytics tools. The hosting provider may generate basic technical access logs (such as IP address and timestamp) for security and service-operation purposes. If you write to us by email, we use that information only to respond to your query.
15. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may request access, rectification, deletion, portability, objection or restriction of the processing of your data. To exercise these rights, write to joelaparicio.work@gmail.com. We may request reasonable information to verify your identity before handling the request, in order to prevent fraudulent deletions or access.
16. Account and data deletion
Erasing your data and deleting your account are two different actions. You can erase all your data at any time and on any plan from within the app itself, under Settings → Danger zone → Delete all data. If you use Quadra Pro, this also clears the data synced on our servers and on your other devices. This option keeps your access account.
To delete the account itself, write to us at joelaparicio.work@gmail.com. We will delete the account and associated information from the systems we operate directly and pass the deletion instruction on to providers acting on our behalf, to the extent technically possible. The independent controllers described in section 8 apply their own retention and deletion policies, outside our direct control.
On the free plan, uninstalling the app or clearing its local data also erases the information stored on your device, though not any pending scans or DGI fiscal QR lookups that have already reached our systems (sections 3 and 5).
The public page /en/delete-data explains this process in more detail, without needing to install the app.
17. Legal capacity and minors
To use Quadra you must have sufficient legal capacity to contract digital services under the laws of your country of residence. If you are a minor, you must have your legal representative's authorization. If we detect the use of an account by a person without sufficient legal capacity and without the corresponding authorization, we may suspend or delete that account in accordance with the termination section of our Terms of Use.
18. Changes and contact
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the app, providers, legal requirements or privacy practices. For material changes to the purposes or categories of data processed, we will notify you with reasonable advance notice, indicating the effective date, and will request new consent when applicable law requires it. We will always publish the date of the last update.
Language. This policy was originally written in Spanish and is also provided in English for your convenience. If the two versions conflict or differ in interpretation, the Spanish version prevails, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
